Hasbro to open 10 stores in south
As part of its continued focus and consolidation in the South, Hasbro Clothing Pvt Ltd has drawn a business plan to set up 10 new retail stores in major south Indian cities with an invesment of Rs.3.5 crore this year.
The men's wear company has 'Genesis' and 'Basics' brands in its portfolio. The company has renovated its main store in
Nungambakkam.
"Presently, we have 14 stores in South India and out of this, 11 stores are company-owned. We will set up 10 new stores in South India in the next one year and will invest Rs.3.5 crore for this expansion," Director, Mohamed Hanif, Hasbro, said in
Chennai.
Hasbro will open two stores each in Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kerala. After the expansion, Chennai will have eight stores, the highest number for Hasbro in the South.
"We will set up flagship stores, which will be bigger in size and offer lot more variety and range, in prime locations of the major cities in south India," Hanif said. "Our focus is to have balanced merchandising and the aim is to create one of the best men's wear brands in the south."
"Last year, we did well in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and a business growth of 40 per cent was observed across markets. The response to our Basics and Genesis brands in Kerala has been encouraging," he added.
Hasbro had a turnover of Rs. 35 crore last year. "During this fiscal, we are targetting a turnover of Rs. 50 crore turnover, including revenue from retail operations, multi-brand operations and exports," Suhail Sattar, Director, Hasbro, said.
