Ingredients:
Sooji - 250 gm.
Sugar - 250 gm.
Elaichi powder - a pinch
Coconut pieces - 1/4 cup
Maida - 1 tblsp.
Oil - 250 gm.
Saffron / kesari powder - a pinch
Ripe plantain - 1 no.
Method:
Crush the plantain and mix all the ingredients together. Add sufficient water to make a thick batter. Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel. Take a small ladle full of batter and pour it carefully into the hot oil. Turn the appam to the other side when it puffs up. Remove from fire when golden brown. Serve hot. |
