A one-day seminar on 'Indian Cinema - Winds
of Change', organised by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC)
in association with the Madras Film Society and the US Consulate
General, Chennai, will be held in Chennai on July 14.
The seminar would focus on the current state
of the film industry and the road ahead, said R Anand, chairman,
IACC.
A host of other topics like film content and
censorship, film financing, multiplexes - the new experience,
technological advancements, overseas markets and new media, the
Hollywood connection, legal issues and piracy will be discussed,
he said.
A book, titled 'A Report on South Indian
Cinema', will be released during the seminar.
'Abirami' Ramanathan, managing director of
the Abirami Group, said the organisers were sowing the seeds for
taking Tamil cinema to a new level.
Actor Kamal Haasan will inaugurate the
seminar, while actor Madhavan will take part in the valedictory
session. Top people from the industry and banks will take part
