Gillette, the leader in men's shaving
products, has announced a revolutionary special MRP (maximum
retail price) promotion for Tamil Nadu. As part of its drive,
the company roped in popular actor Simbhu for its promotion in
the state.
Simbhu said he would not be a brand
ambassador as such for the product or the company but was merely
associating with the promotion of this product. Personally
speaking, he said, he was happy with the product and had tried
and tested it out. He wouldn't endorse the product if it wasn't
good enough for him.
As for the clean-shaven look, Simbhu said he
revealed the new look to his father - actor-director T
Rajendherr - who said he looked okay. "My father likes his
beard. And I like the clean-shaven look now," he quipped.
Gillette will offer its best-selling twin
blade shaving system, Vector Plus, at a special MRP of Rs 29,
against the earlier MRP of Rs 49. The company also announced
special MRP offers on the cartridge packs - Vector Plus 2
cartridge pack will now be available for Rs 20, compared to Rs
35 earlier, while the Vector Plus 4 cartridge pack will be
available for Rs 38, compared to the earlier MRP of Rs 65. With
this very special offer, shaving for 3 weeks with Vector Plus
will only cost Rs 10, said its spokesman, Sumeet Narang,
Marketing Manager- Gillette, Oral-B, Duracell.
"Gillette has always brought cutting-edge
technology to the world. In India our consumer research showed
us that there is an unmet need for superior quality shaving at
an affordable MRP. With this special revolutionary promotion,
consumers in Tamil Nadu will now get a world-class,
tension-free, twin-blade shaving experience with Vector Plus at
just Rs 10 for three weeks," he added.
