A rally will be taken out in Chennai on October 1, 2007, to celebrate actor Sivaji Ganesan's 80th birth anniversary. The arrangements for the rally are being made by the Nadigar Thilakam Sivaji Samooga Peravai, said its president, K Chandrasekharan.

The rally will be flagged off at the Triumph of Labour Statue at 8.30 a.m on October 1, 2007, and will culminate at the Sivaji Ganesan statue near the Light House.

Chandrasekharan said those attending the rally will later garland the Sivaji Ganesan statue at the junction near the DGP statue. Special arrangements had been made by the fans to celebrate the 80th birth anniversary of the late actor in a grand manner, Chandrasekharan added.
