Actor Suriya is on cloud nine. He is enjoying
himself in the new role -- that of a father.
Suriya and Jothika have got a girl child and have decided to
name it Diya.
Surya said, "Diya means lamp and we are sure
she will be the lamp in our lives. Both mother and child are
fine."
"I am happier that we have got a girl child
and not a boy," said Suriya, talking to Chennaionline about his
new role.
"I can't describe how I feel and how it feels
to be a father. It's just great," added Suriya.
On whether he would be able to spend enough
time with the child, Suriya said, "I hope so. I am trying hard
to spend as much time as possible with Jothika and Diya."
On his current assignments, Suriya said 'Vel'
is expected to be ready for the Deepavali festival. "I'm excited
about it as it is an entertainer and a double role. We have put
in a lot of effort to make the film truly appealing to the
people."
Asked about working again with Gautam Menon
in 'Vaaranam Aayiram', Surya said it was always a pleasure. "I
can't talk about the film now. Let's see how it goes."
The actor was happy that the Sri Sivakumar
Educational and Charitable Trust, formed by his father, actor
Sivakumar, was helping a lot of poor and needy children in
pursuing their studies. They had now set up the Agaram
Foundation to help run the trust and hold such events.
