Ninaithale
Innikkum, a
remake of
recent
Malayalam
hit
Classmates,
was said to
be a
gripping
campus story
with lot of
fun and
emotions.
The movie
opens as
Shiva (Prithviraj)
recollecting
his college
days. Shiva
and Sakthi (Sakthi)
are
classmates
and close
friends.

Vasu (Karthik
Kumar) is hurt
by Shiva as he
is punished by
him for teasing
a girl. He is
waiting for the
right time to
take revenge
against Shiva.
Another
student Meera (Priyamani), daughter of local MLA, falls in
love with Shiva.

Vasu, who is
jealous of
Shiva, plays a
trick and
succeeds in
making Meera
contest against
Shiva in the
College Union
Elections.
Though the
friction between
the lovers is
under control,
some ugly scenes
engineered by
Vasu spoil the
entire
environment.
Meanwhile Sakthi
is found dead
mysteriously and
Shiva leaves the
collage without
informing
anyone.
Eight years
back everyone
comes back to
the collage for
a get together
arranged by
Sakthi's father.
The reunion
witnesses some
unexpected turns
and causes more
trouble among
the
ex-classmates.
Why they happen
and how things
settle down form
the crux of the
climax.
Director G.N.
Kumaravelan has
managed to pep
up the
proceedings in
the second half
with some twists
and turns. But
he has failed to
make the first
half
interesting.
Though the
second half
looks better,
the whole thing
is packed in a
dull manner and
hence fails to
evoke any
interest. The
script moves on
a predictable
path and in a
snail's pace.
Kumaravelan
tries to portray
some genuine
love and
friendship but
he could not do
that with
conviction.
There is no
chemistry
between
Prithviraj and
Priyamani.
Music
director Vijay
Anthony has
managed to give
some hummable
tunes while
cinematographer
Balasubramaniam
has done a good
job with his
camera.
Prithviraj,
Priyamani and
Sakthi do
justice to their
roles but the
roles are not
well defined and
hence they fail
to impress.
Bhagiyaraj
Ilavarasu,
Goodluck
Lakshmanan and
Manobala manage
to put up a
decent show.
Ninaithale
Innikkum fails
to utilize the
value of a good
storyline due to
unimaginative
and dull script.
