A young doctor ('Jeyam' Ravi) goes to the Russian capital Moscow to participate in a medical conference for a few days. Separated from his team, Ravi accidentally gets involved in the murder of a beautiful Russian girl. A local drugs-smuggling mafia gang falsely implicates Ravi in the case.

Ravi escapes from police custody and mulls over his next move to prove his innocence. In his effort, he gets help from unexpected quarter through a stunning-looking advocate (Lakshmi Rai) arranged by the Indian Embassy in Moscow. The rest of the story is about how Ravi manages to identify the real culprits and brings them to book.

An usual romantic story, told in the backdrop of the scenic Russian locales, the film has many interesting moments. Ravi's marriage to his village-based lover (newcomer Kangna Ranaut looks amazingly beautiful), which is kept in abeyance for want of Ravi's presence, is depicted in a natural and enjoyable manner.

Though the backdrop is potentially an engrossing one, lack of logic takes the sheen out of those sequences. The way the gun-toting villains take to their heels on seeing unarmed 'Jeyam' Ravi smacks of all possible logic and makes it a comic event.

'Jeyam' Ravi comes through this film unscathed, with his image intact. In fact, for this baby-faced Ravi, action comes very naturally. He simply dazzles in action sequences. Kangna Ranaut, Lakshmi Rai and Russian actress Maria have all performed their allotted roles brilliantly. Bollywood's Kangna hasn't shied away from exposing her hour-glass figure in the song sequences. Maria's character and the way she gets killed in the film evoke sympathy from the viewers and is a well-conceived one.

'Nizhalgal' Ravi, 'Bose' Venkat, Mahadevan, Chetan, Anu Hasan, Srinath, Janaki Sabesh and Vatsala are the other actors in the film who have performed their allotted roles to perfection. Dialogue writer S. Ramakrishnan deserves credit for some sharp and crisp dialogues. Harris Jeyaraj's music and background score are a great plus for the movie 'Anbe en anbae' and Dham dhoom theme track are catchy and hummable.

In each and every frame, the results of the hard work and the collated effort of the late Jeeva, G.K. Manikandan, P.C. Sriram (who took care of camera work after Jeeva's untimely demise), cinematographer Rajasekar and finally, Anees Tavir, wife of late Jeeva, are showing on-screen.

Imaginative editing by veteran editor V.T. Vijayan has made the narrative look racy.

'Dhaam Dhoom' passes muster despite some loop holes in the script. The spectacular cinematography, trendy music, Ravi's performance, and Kangana's fresh looks make the film watchable.
