Four
young engineers living in the US decided to make a movie. And
that's how 'Sila Nerangalil' of New Light Productions was born.
Though they belong to Andhra Pradesh,
impressed by the storyline of R Raj, who works in Hollywood as a
story and dialogue contributor, the engineers decided to do
their debut film in Tamil.
Their
hunt through the Internet for a suitable director ended in the
appointment of noted Malayalam film director Jayaraj. Jayaraj
has directed 29 films including 'Vidyarambam', 'Deivanaamthil',
'Johnywalker', 'Desaanadanam', 'Kaliyaattam', 'Karnam', 'Saantham',
'4 Students' and so on, and had won four national awards. When
they narrated the story to Jayaraj, he immeidately agreed to
direct the film. The team picked Vincent
Asokan, son of veteran villain and comedy actor Asokan, to play
the lead role. Navya Nair was offered the role of heroine.
Vairamuthu
has provided the lyrics for all the songs which have been tuned
by Srikant Deva. The highlight of the songs would be the number
rendered by P Susheela and another by T M Sounderarajan's son T
M S Balraj.
Raghuvaran is expected to be the
scene-stealer with a stellar performance in an unusual role.
Shooting spots included Munnar, in Kerala.
The final shooting stint is now on.
