'Achchamundu! Achchamundu!' has the distinction of being India's first feature film to be shot completely in Red one camera. Under the Project East West A production and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan, Achchamundu! Achchamundu! , a thriller, stars Prasanna, Sneha and Emmy Award winner John Shea. With a crew comprising of Hollywood technicians, the film was shot in New Jersey and New York locations in a period of 28 days. The post production is currently underway in both America and Chennai.

Coming to the Red One Camera, the equipment is the latest technology to hit the film industry. This camera has the capacity to capture colors and images at the best resolution. During the shoot, the visuals are directly loaded to the hard disk rather than a film roll. This makes it easier for the crew to watch the rushes as and when they require it. Oscar winners like Peter Jackson and Steven Sodenbergh have used the Red One camera before and 'Achchamundu' has the honor of being the first Indian Feature to be shot using the Red One camera.



There are less than 5000 Red One cameras in the Industry worldwide. Since more and more directors are leaning towards Red One camera as their choice of camera, there has been a swelling demand for it. The Red One company said that this demand has caused a wait period of one year after the reservation for the delivery of the camera

Red one camera ensures accurate recording of the visuals with a 4096 x 2096 resolution capture. The difference between super 35 mm and Red One Camera can be very clearly understood by watching the visuals itself. Moreover, any lens can be fitted to the Red One Camera. The camera virtually makes the film roll redundant, as the visuals are recorded directly to the hard disk.

Despite all these advantages, the camera is very cost effective compared to a film camera (Red One Camera costs 8 Lacs).
