Sun Pictures recently acquired the distribution rights of 'Kadhalil Vizhunden', infusing fresh blood into the lives of the hero as well as the crew of the film. The wide publicity that is given for the film on Sun TV, arguably the leading Tamil channel or more than a decade now, is quite amazing indeed. The film even occupies much of the space in the Tamil dailies run by Sun TV group.
Sun Pictures plans to release the film in Coimbatore on its own. Comedian Karunas, who dabbled in film distribution for some time before incurring heave losses, is said to be lending his wisdom to Sun Pictures in fixing the distributors. Karunas' act also has a personal motive to this. Sun Pictures has reportedly decided to acquired distribution rights of 'Dindigul Sarathy' too. This film marks the first effort of Karunas as a hero.
Some news was also heard in Kodambakkam circles last week. Still unconfirmed, the reports said that there was pressure being applied on theatre owners from the 'powers of corridor' in Secretariat not to give theatres to release 'Kadhalil Vizhnudhaen'.
