 Satyaraj dons two different looks in his new film ‘Vambu Sandai’. One that of a poll officer and the other, of a mentally deranged man. The story centeres on an honest election officer who constantly lands in trouble. And once when he questions the illegal activities of a political group, the developments lead to his losing his mental balance. After psychiatric treatment, he returns to normalcy and plans his vendetta.
 Chitrabhanu from Kolkota, with her name changed to Chandramukhi, is paired with Satyaraj. Sharing frames is the young pair of Udaykiran (of ‘Poi’ fame), and Diya. The film is scripted and directed by Rajkapoor who also plays the role of an encounter specialist in the film. The cast also includes names like Fefsi Vijayan, Ramesh Kanna, Livingston, Sukumari, Manobala, Balu Anand, Ilavarasu, Riyaz Khan, and Sabita
Anand.
With Suresh Devan wielding the camera, D Imman scoring the music, editing is by V T Vijayan and stunts arranged by Anal Arasu and Dalapathi Dinesh. The film is produced by A. Venkatesh. “The film is not just about the happening in the life of a poll officer, but also depicts the bonding between a father and son. And, like my earlier films, it will have its share of humour too,” says Rajkapoor.
