Comedian Karunas, who tried his hand at a leading role in last year’s ‘Dindigul Sarathy’ and tasted moderate success, is again playing the lead role in a film titled ‘Ambasamuthiram Ambani’. Last year, Karunas regretted that none of the frontline heroines were willing to pair up opposite him. Karthika of ‘Nam Naadu’ fame, now married, agreed to pair up opposite him.

This time around, for ‘Ambaa…’, Navneet Kaur (remember Vijaykant’s heroine in the film ‘Arasangam’) is paired opposite Karunas. Karunas has been signed to play the lead role in a horror film ‘Pournami Naagam’, a heroine-oriented subject, directed by ‘Yaar’ Kannan.

Mumaith Khan, the ‘item number’ specialist, has been roped in by Kannan to play the lead role. When informed that her opposite number would be Karunas, Mumaith said that she agreed to play heroine to Karunas only because the script was a heroine-oriented one. This has further added to Karunas’ worries that not a single heroine is ready to act with him without setting any preconditions.

Karunas says he’d silence his detractors by his success in future.
