May
be a it's
season of
father-daughter
bonding
stories to
surface. 'Aa
Aaa Ee Eee'
deals with
the
emotional
bonding
between a
daughter and
her father.
The director
slips up in
neatly packaging
their emotional
struggles and
instead, makes
it a dull and
dreary affair.
Prabhu, a respected Ayurvedic doctor is so fond of her daughter Monika
that he can't even tolerate her stay away from the village for three years
to pursue for higher studies. He searches for a suitable groom for his
daughter within the same village to keep her near by after the marriage.
Prabhu finds a groom in a nice guy Arvind but is unaware of the fact that
Monika is in love with her college-mate from the city, Navdeep. Monika, who
doesn't want to break her father's heart by telling her 'love' affair to her
father, goes to Arvind requests him to reject her. Arvind accepts and he
wants to make Navdeep and Monica united. He locates Navdeep and brings him
to the village. Meanwhile, Saranya Mohan, the vivacious sister of Monica,
falls for Navdeep by sheer accident.
All the four plan many tricks to change the plans made by the elders. The
rest of the film deals with how they manage to do that.
The director succeeds in creating many twists but fails to make them
interesting, as all the twists fizzle out. He could have made it better by
conceiving better sequences to portray the predicament of the protagonists.
Prabhu has done a neat job, while Navdeep and Arvind have put in
reasonably good performances. Monika and Saranya look fresh and add some
enthusiasm to the proceedings. Monica looks hot in the city sequences while
Saranya scores with her bubbly presence.
The veteran Manorama hasn't been given a meaty role, while 'Ganja'
Karuppu, Livingston, Sathyan, Satish and Vasu Vikram have also been
under-utilized.
Haneefa's comical interludes and the youthful interactions between the
leading cast save the film from getting drowned.
One wonders as to what the foreigners, supposed to be learning classical
music, add to the film.
Music by Vijay Antony is average while Aruldas' cinematography is
beautiful. Director Sabapathi Dakshinamurthy, has failed to come out with a
script that could make the fare interesting.
Verdict: Aa Aa E Ee is an average fare despite a youthful cast and
Haneefa's spirited performance.
