The
audio-launch
of
'Aadhavan'
starring
Suriya and
Nayantara as
lead pair
for the
first time
and directed
by K.S.
Ravikumar
was held in
the city
yesterday.
The
audio-cassettes
and CDs were
released by
producer-director
Shankar and
received by
Rama
Narayanan,
president of
the
Producers'
Council. The
surprise
guest on the
occasion,
however, was
Vijay. Not
often a
leading hero
takes part
in the
audio-launch
of the film
of one of
his
contemporaries.

Speaking
at the
event,
Suriya
revealed
that Vijay,
his co star
in Friends,
sent an SMS
to him early
this year
after
listening to
the songs of
the film
'Vaaranam
Aayiram'.
The message
read, as
quoted by
Suriya, "The
songs have
come out
very well;
I've been
listening
them
repeatedly".
Suriya
lauded
Vijay's open
mind and
said that he
felt a
little
apprehensive
of Vijay's
presence at
the venue
when the
songs of
'Aadhavan'
were
screened.

Sasikumar,
who has been
a regular
now-a-days
at most of
the film
events, said
that
"Appreciating
others is a
rare habit
and Suriya
possesses
plenty of
it. After
watching my
'Subramaniapuram'
and 'Nadodigal',
Suriya rang
me up and
appreciated
those films.
The
appreciation
wasn't a
single line
affair; he
actually
spoke in
detail about
many
sequences in
both the
films, which
gladdened my
heart. For
an actor of
his stature,
he needn't
congratulate
me at all;
still, he
has called
me on phone
many times
to
appreciate
me. It'd be
better for
our heroes
to learn a
lot from
Suriya in
this
regard."
Comedian
Vivek also
spoke on the
occasion. "I
hear that
producer
Udhayanidhi
has also
played a
brief but
significant
role in the
film. I only
wish he
doesn't
change his
(track)
profession
from that of
a producer
to an actor.
If only he
continues as
director,
would he be
able to give
employment
opportunities
to many
actors and
technicians
in the
industry"
said Vivek.
Nayantara
and Vadivelu
were
conspicuous
by their
absence.
