After Karunas, 'Kadhal' Sugumar turns hero

'Kadhal' Sugumar In a season of some 'good-looking' comedians turning heroes, it's now the turn of - hold your breath - 'Kadhal' Sugumar to turn hero. Sugumar might have felt heartened by the success of one of his peers - Karunas. The film 'Dindigul Sarathy', which saw Karunas play the lead role for the first time, is doing reasonably well.

Sugumar's maiden attempt at doing a lead role has been titled 'Samipulla' and will be directed by newcomer Rangarajan. 'Thoothukudi' Karthika, who stole many a heart with her dance number 'Karuvapaiyya...' from her maiden film, has been signed up as the heroine. The other heroine will be the diminutive Saranya Mohan, who was last seen in 'Panchamirtham'.

K.V. Mani will be the cinematographer while J.K. Selva will be the music director. The film is being produced by Amirtha Anbarasu.
