The shooting of Ajit's 'Asal' directed by Saran, should have begun by now as per the original schedule. On the contrary, one now hears that the shooting has now been postponed to July. Though the official reason being given is that the Unit is yet to locate the second heroine after zeroing in on Sameera Reddy for the first heroine's role, there could be something more than that meets the eye.

Sources reveal the choice of heroines is not an issue. It is said to be director Saran's preset predicament in releasing his 'Modhi Vilaiyadu' after having burnt his fingers by producing his own film in 'Vattaram'. Saran finds it difficult to start 'Asal' before the release of 'Modhi Vilaiyadu'.

Ajit, according to the sources, has advised Saran to sort out all his problems and then turn to him for proceeding with 'Asal'.
