Navarathri
will be celebrated on Vijay TV in a special way with top singers
presenting a Carnatic music festival, 'Navarathri Subharathri'.
On all nine days of the celebration there will be Carnatic
musicians singing hymns in praise of Goddess Durga, Goddess
Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswathi.
Top singers like Sudha
Ragunathan, Nithyasri Mahadevan, Aruna Sayeeram, Shobha
Chandrasekar, Sowmya and Gayathri Girish and playback singers
Mahathi, Saindhavi including the Super Singer Juniors Abarna,
Deepthi Suresh and Dhanyashree will sing devotional songs on
Goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi.
The show will be hosted by
Sharada Nambi Aaruraan, a famous personality who conducts
devotional discourses, who will speak about famous temples that
are associated with each Goddess. She will also speak about the
importance and significance of celebrating the 'Kolu' festival
by describing the implication of each step (padi) as it is the
heart of Navarathri celebrations.
The 'Navarathri Subharathri'
special on Vijay TV begins is on from 6..30 p.m. onwards till
October 20, 2007.
Also, a special 'Navarathri
Film Festival' is lined-up for viewers. This has the collection
of classic devotional films that will capture the essence of
Navarathri. Films like 'Mahakavi Kalidas', 'Devi Darisanam', 'Thunaivan',
'Meenakshi Thiruvilayadal', 'Adi Velli', 'Vellikizhamai Viradam'
will air from October 15, 2007 - October 20, 2007 at 4 p.m.
