Fresh off the southern coast
This time round, it is flavours from the southern coast that’s sending the taste buds into a tizzy for guests at Southern Spice. In all, 52 exclusive recipes from a total of nearly 80 dishes belonging strictly to the four south Indian states is pulling guests back into the restaurant to partake in Fresh Off the Southern Coast, a coastal food fest. On until December 7 at the specialty south Indian restaurant of the Taj Coromandel, the fest is a must attend for hard-core seafood buffs.
According to P K Mohankumar, general manager, Taj Coromandel, “Southern Spice is considered among the finest specialty south Indian restaurants in the city. At the restaurant, consistent efforts are on to ensure that guests have something new and interesting to look forward to. Given that this is the best time of the year for procuring fresh and quality seafood, this seemed the appropriate time for a coastal food fest. And going by our earlier responses to this fest, we are hopeful of a very promising response this time as well.”
Chefs Balaji and Vishnu Varadharajan are all geared to draw upon their vast experience of churning out culinary marvels and tantalise the taste buds of guests streaming into the restaurant.
For the more curious of the lot, a sample of the menu includes 'kothamalli thakkali era', 'nandu vadai', 'Quilon karuvadai mochai kozhambhu' and 'perichan pazha payasam' among others.
So, take your pick between lunch and dinner and get ready to savour the myriad flavours of south Indian coastal cuisine at its scrumptious best. Only at Southern Spice.
