Bedecked with banana leaves, tornam and elegant flower decorations, the
Southern Spice at the Taj Coromandel has heralded the Tamil New Year. And like always, the Taj has done it in style this time again. The finest South Indian restaurant in the city, the Southern Spice, is hosting a fortnight long
Tamil Nadu Sappadu Pandigai, to celebrate the Tamil New Year. Scheduled between
April 14 and April 28, 2003, the lunch and dinner program boasts of an elaborate festival special menu.
“At the Taj, we celebrate our Indian festivals with a lot of vim and vigor. And, this Tamil New Year was no exception. We are hosting a special Tamil Nadu cuisine festival that will showcase cuisine from various remote parts of the state. And if the responses to our earlier food fests are to be taken as an indication, we are hopeful of a very encouraging response to this one as well,” observes Mr. P K Mohankumar, General Manager, Taj
Coromandel.
Chefs Chandrasekar, Naveen and Balaji have culled a delicious and complete menu comprising vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters, soups, main course and desserts. The menu comprises some mouth-watering fare like era semiya vada, kozhi malligai, masala paniyaram (starters), pallathur kozhi curry, ambur biriyani, Ceylon parota, elaneer payasam and aachi halwa to name some.
So, what are you waiting for? Head for the Southern Spice and
kick start the holiday season on a delectable note.
