Spinach kuttu

Keerai (greens) is good for health and it is available everywhere at low cost. Elders and doctors say that we should eat at least one variety of keerai daily for good health. This recipe is for 'molakkeerai' but you can substitute it with any other keerai and follow the same method of cooking.

Ingredients

  • Keerai - 1 bundle
  • Paasi paruppu - 50 gms
  • Jeeragam - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper- 1 tbsp
  • Coconut - A little
  • Mustard - A little
  • Ulutham paruppu - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - To taste

Cut the keerai into small pieces. Clean the keerai with running water. Cook the keerai and paasi paruppu in a cooker. Pour some oil in a vessel and heat it up. Grind the jeeragam, pepper, coconut, mustard, asofoetida powder in a mixer.

Splutter the mustard and ulutham paruppu.

Add to the keerai and paasi paruppu the ground paste and allow the mixture to simmer on the stove.

Lip-smacking keerai kuttu is ready!
