| Maddy brings cheers to special children
Pizza Hut, the market leader in
the pizza category in India, and film star Madhavan reached out to special
children in Chennai by announcing a six-month initiative for the children on
November 8. Pizza Hut has joined hands with Karunai Trust and Shakti Foundation
to undertake this initiative. During this period, all Pizza Hut customers will
be invited to contribute a nominal sum of Rs. 5, which will be added to their
bills, for the cause of these children.
Karunai Trust and the Shakti
Foundation will share the proceeds of this effort.
The initiative was announced by
star Madhavan at a fun-filled and colourful afternoon organised for some of
these children at Pizza Hut, Nungambakkam. Madhavan extended his support to the
cause by joining the children at this entertaining event.
"It is a pleasure for me
to be here today with these wonderful children. Pizza Hut's effort to dedicate
the next six months for the cause of tliese children is commendable. Pizza Hut
has done a great job of putting together this magical afternoon and I look
forward to attending many more," said Maddy.
The afternoon saw Pizza Hut
crew members dancing to the tunes of popular songs from Madhavan's movies. The
children and Madhavan joined the crew as well. All the children present were
handed out gifts by Madhavan. This was followed by a sumptuous Pizza Hut lunch
for everyone.

Pizza Hut was able to make this
magical afternoon possible for these very special children with the support of
Karunai Trust and the Shakti Foundation. On this occasion, Vidya Singh, Founder,
Karunai Trust said, "This afternoon was certainly a memorable one for these
children. We appreciate the support provided to us by Pizza Hut and Madhavan."
The Karunai Trust is a
voluntary organisation of motivated social workers, trained special educators
and concerned parents working towards providing free education and other support
services to mentally retarded children and their families in the city, while
Shakti foundation, founded by Indira Ram, renders exemplary service to the rural
poor and the physically challenged.
