Vasanta Bhavan - Food Waves, ideally located on Nungambakkam High Road, is a multi-cuisine air-conditioned vegetarian restaurant that has been serving the Chennaiites from October last year. With very good interiors and ambience, this restaurant is very popular with office-goers and families thronging the place on weekdays and holidays. It serves varieties of food from South Indian to Chinese; has an extensive menu for starters & desserts, tandoori items and chats. The kitchen opens at 6 a.m. and closes around 11 p.m.

 Vasanta Bhavan has a long chain of restaurants in and around the city; Food Waves is the latest addition that offers free home delivery too. The menu contains some interesting items to choose from. Veg. Fried Wantons may be called the perfect starters costing Rs. 60 and the same can be said of Gobi Lollypop. The best soup option is Wanton Soup costing Rs. 40. In the Tandoori section - varieties of rotis can be had at Rs. 20.
 Hyderabad Biriyani tops the list of rice items for just Rs. 45. And what about noodles? Hong Kong Noodles & Fried Rice are available at Rs. 50 a plate. Chinese food is sold in a large variety. Bamboo shoot, Boya Sauce can be had for Rs. 50. If you feel like having a snack - you can choose from the menu that consists of cutlet, samosa, vada, bonda, pakoda, etc. Other items like chats, pizzas, desserts and juices are also sold here and the response is good. Business lunch that comprises Chennai and Punjabi meals is available between 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Chettinad items are in great demand as they are reasonably priced and are light on the stomach.
