Ingredients: Boiled rice - 1 cup
Raw rice - 1 cup
Channa dal, Toor dal Urad dal - ¾ cup
Grated coconut - ½ cup
Red chillies - 6-8 nos.
Salt to taste
Asafoetida - a small piece
Oil for deep-frying
Procedure:
Mix raw rice and boiled rice, clean and soak them in water for at least one hour. Mix all the three dals and soak them in water separately with the asafoetida. Coarsely grind the rice and later on add the soaked dals, red chillies and grind them. When it is nearly done, add the grated coconut and coarsely grind the mix. Make a thick batter. Heat oil in a frying pan, drop the batter little by little in the form of small balls. Fry till golden brown colour and remove from fire.
This dish tastes good even when it is served not hot.
