Ingredients
1 tablespoon of oil
¾ tablespoon cumin seeds
Green chillies to taste
1 large onion, sliced
1 large tomato
A pinch of turmeric
400 grams lauki, peeled and cubed
Salt to taste
½ -3/4 teaspoon of sugar
Method:
Put the oil in a microwave safe dish and heat on Microwave at 100% Power (or MW 70% +200 Degree) for 2 minutes.
Drop in the cumin and green chillies. Continue to cook at the same level for 2 minutes. Add the onion. Microwave for 2 minutes.
Add the tomato and turmeric. Microwave at the same power level for 3 minutes.
Stir in the vegetable. Cover and cook at MW 100% for 5 minutes.
Stand 3-4 minutes before adding the sugar and salt. The vegetable will have slight bite to it. If you prefer it softer cooked, add 1 minute cooking time.
