Call
it 'Voice' (as the Tamil media love to call actor Rajnikant's political
statements to the visual and print media -- it would be more
appropriate to call it Shoot/simply Media Conference) or Lip
Service, Rajni
has apparently been biting the lip too hard. So much so, he has had
to take treatment at the Apollo Hospitals to remove "small
blister marks" on his lips. While reports suggest that he had
taken recourse to plastic surgery, a medical bulletin of the Apollo
Hospitals merely states that "small blister marks in his
lips foirmed due to extreme tenderness" were removed.
Having
taken on PMK leader S Ramadoss and thrown a challenge at him and
ultimately having had to bite the dust, the actor has had to bite
his lips, perhaps wondering if he had spoken out of turn or spoken
too much. The PMK leader had the last laugh, his candidates winning
all the six seats the party contested, while the actor must be left
wondering why at all he claimed that Vajpayee
would be back as Prime Minister. Worse still, the actor handed over
a petition (on the need for the project to inter-link rivers) to
Vajpayee, only to find that he was no longer the PM a few days
later.
So
what will Rajni
do now? Ask Vajpayee to forward the petition to the new PM or meet
the new PM and give him a fresh petition?
Therefore, it is
but natural to assume that Rajni
must have been biting his lip.
Speculation is rife
that Rajni
will go ahead with the film Jaggubhai
as planned. The "blister marks" on his lips, which badly
affected his image in the film Baba,
therefore had to be removed so as to present a neat face to his fans.
The hospital
medical bulletin suggests that Rajni had turned up at the hospital
for a routine check-up and was advised a day's stay by the
administration.
The following is
the text of the bulletin:
"Medical
Bulletin
Leading
cine actor Mr.Rajnikanth who was due for a preventive health check
was advised a day's stay at the Apollo
Hospital Chennai as it would not have been possible for all
tests to be conducted from his residence.
During the check up
Mr.Rajnikanth was advised to undergo a procedure whereby small
blister marks in his lips formed due to extreme tenderness could be
removed. The procedure was performed successfully. There was no
other medical cause for the procedure to be performed said
Dr.Murugesan, consultant at the Apollo
Hospital."
