A case of salivary calculus
One
should give importance to life and comfort than to the system or
the doctor. Each and every system has its own limitations and
advantages. People need to benefit from all the advantages.
Homeopathy gains more and more importance now with its smooth,
non-violent nature of treatment. Within its limits, Homeopathy
treatment can provide life-time solutions for many complaints
completely, provided treatment is taken and completed perfectly
as per the advice of a qualified Homeopath. Homeopathy can help
people in many ways to avoid unnecessary surgery with
symptomatic treatment and constitutional approach. Internal
homeopathic medicines treat patients on the whole by supporting
the body’s own process of healing (immune mechanism) without any
side-effects.
In treating
salivary calculus (or any other
calculus), Homoeopathy always follows Nature’s rule, so it never
admits to just removal as a cure. It means healing as making
healthy, not just as removing the effects of the diseases
(stones). Homeopathy can work efficiently to expel a stone at a
faster rate without any surgical measures. Evidences make
history and proof makes fact. Seeing will make one believe and
follow than stating facts or history. Here is a case of salivary
calculus which had been expelled in a natural way with the aid
of homeopathic medicines.
This
presentation should not be taken just as a success story of the
doctor as it is one among the immense successes of Homeopathy
and its fraternity. It is presented here to encourage people to
have faith and belief in Homeopathy even during tough situations
that compel them for surgical solutions.
R, aged 68, male - trader by profession, came
for consultation on February 18, 2007, presenting complaints of
excruciating pain and swelling in the left cheek. He states that
he had been suffering for the past 12 days. Initially, he
thought it was toothache and took pain-killers and antibiotics
on his own. But in spite of it all, the pain persisted. So he
consulted a dentist. The dentist ruled out pain from dental
origin and advised him to approach a general physician. Then,
the patient underwent all investigations under the guidance of
his family physician.
“Ultra sound scan reveals a calculus of 1 cm
in left submandibular duct. With dilated ducts, left
submandibular gland seems to be enlarged and measures - 3.3 x
3.1cms”.
He was advised to undergo an intraoral open
surgery to remove the stone at the earliest to avoid
complications like chronic infections and pain. Since he was
diabetic and feared surgery more and the healing of the wound
after that, he wanted to avoid surgery. With a wish to avoid
surgery, he approached Homeopathy.

Homeopathy satisfied his anticipation and
relieved him from the pain without any surgical intervention or
side-effects in a period of one-and-a-half months. Even though
he had a very big stone, it was easily expelled without much
pain with the aid of homeopathic medicines Calc carb, Belladona
and Beri beri vulgaris.
His complaints were:

Salivary
calculus in left submandibular duct

area) - eating, chewing, jarring movements, etc.

tongue in the morning while brushing. Now he has no swelling at
all in the cheek.
Rx Calc carb 200 / 1dose

28.3.07- No complaints – stopped treatment.
(Thanks
to the courteousness of the patient who allowed this
presentation to show the effectiveness of Homeopathy)
These medicines should be taken under the
advice and diagnosis of a Qualified Homeopath. In Homeopathy,
each and every patient might need different medicines depending
upon their symptom presentations and intensity of sufferings, so
one needs to consult their Homeopath for similar complaints or
any other complaints. Also, one should be aware that individual
results may vary depending upon the size, type and position of
the stone(s).
