Lifeline group of hospitals has acquired a hospital in Madipakkam to provide community healthcare, with a focus on diabetology, cardio vascular diseases, geriatrics and home care services. The hospital will be called Lifeline Hospital Madipakkam. It's a 40-bed hospital with six fully equipped ICDs and 24-hour emergency services, Outpatient care and round-the-clock pharmacy and lab services. The hospital was inaugurated on April 20, 2007, by S Ve Shekhar, MLA, and Lakshmi
Sivachandran.
The first phase of investment into this hospital is Rs 4 crore and there will be an additional investment of Rs 2-3 crore in the second phase. This will enable all the hospitals in the Lifeline group to be connected through telemedicine. The hospitals will be connected in a hub-and-spoke model where the patients can be monitored from Lifeline Multi Speciality Hospital, Perungudi. The doctors at Lifeline Multi Speciality Hospital will be able to monitor, consult and evaluate patients at Lifeline Madipakkam through this telemedicine technology.
In the next two years the Lifeline Group will invest over Rs 100 crore both in terms of upgrading their current facilities and acquisition of additional hospitals. Lifeline is also planning to invest to upgrade Lifeline Rigid Hospital at Kilpauk from a 50-bed hospital to a 100-bed
multi-speciality hospital.
Lifeline conducted a Lifeline Symposium, CME on 'Heartburn' on April 22, 2007, at Lifeline Multi Speciality Hospital, Perungudi. The symposium will consist of discussions on various clinical scenarios, case discussions, Role of investigations on GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease), demonstrations on endoscopy, PH monitoring and manometry and the management of GERD. There were also be surgeries conducted i.e. Nissen Fundoplication, Hiatus Hernia with Toupet Fundoplication and Hellers Cardiomyotomy with Dor
Fundoplication.
Lifeline group of hospitals started its first establishment 'RIGID Hospital' in Kilpauk. The group presently consists of 15 corporate medical centres, one tertiary care hospital Lifeline Multi Speciality Hospital, Perungudi, and two secondary care hospitals, Rigid Hospitals in Kilpauk and Lifeline Clinic at Adyar. Started with just 25 beds, the group now has more than 500 beds. Lifeline has grown from primary to tertiary healthcare, it has carefully planned accessibility.
