Star Health and Medical Tourism Pvt Ltd inaugurated its first
polyclinic, 'Star Clinics', in Chennai on August 17, 2007. Tamil
Nadu Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veerasamy inaugurated the clinic
at New No. 9, Old No. 3, Madha Church Road, Mandavelipakkam.
The inauguration of Star Clinics is in accordance with the company's
proposed plan to establish multi-specialty outpatient treatment
facilities across all big cities in India, said A G Gajapathy,
executive director, Star Health and Medical Tourism Pvt Ltd.
"It is a matter of extreme pride for us to inaugurate our first
polyclinic in Chennai. We aim to provide primary healthcare to rural
and semi-urban public, and hope to add another six clinics to the
existing 24 clinics by the end of August. We also hope to set up
several such clinics across the country by the end of the next
fiscal to make healthcare more easily accessible to all."
Star Clinics offers services like pre-insurance screening
outpatient facility for Star Insurance coverage, minor procedures,
outpatient consultation, telemedicine facilities, pre-employment
medical check-ups and health-check-ups for corporates and
individuals. The clinic is equipped with a laboratory. Along
with ultrasound and ECG facilities and specialised divisions for
gynaecology, paediatrics, cardiology, dentistry and internal
medicine, the patients can also avail of services of the
full-fledged in-house pharmacy.
The clinic will be open between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. everyday.
