Ramcides, a leading agrochemical manufacturing and marketing company, has entered the mosquito repellent spray segment by launching its new product 'Stop'.
The spray was based on a pharma product called DEPA (di ethyl phenyl acetamide) developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for defence personnel, company managing director R Padmanabhan said in
Coimbatore.
'Stop' is a unique and effective spray used exclusively by the Indian Army and Ramcides is introducing it for the first time in India for the benefit of the public.
Claiming that the spray did not contain any harmful pesticides, Padmanabhan said it also helped to protect people from diseases like dengue, chikungunya, malaria and filariasis, which were transmitted by mosquitoes.
The spray could also be used as body and room spray, he said, adding the product was initially being launched in Tamil
Nadu.
Depending upon the acceptability of the product in the state, the company would introduce cream and lotion variants of the products, he said. (Agencies)
