FitnessOne,
one of the leading fitness training centres in Chennai has come
up with yet another initiative-Academy of Fitness Management (AFM),
which is located at Kilpauk.
The highlight of the academy is that it
offers formal education in fitness training and management,
which in turn will offer placements, to enable the trainees
advance their careers to new heights.
“AFM introduces courses across three levels,
with duration of 3, 6 and 9 months ”, said, Malathy Mohan,
Principal of the Academy. “The basic course costs Rs 15, 000,
level II, around Rs 35, 000 and level III, slightly higher.”
Vivekanand, Managing Director, FitnessOne
proudly said that it was the first comprehensive educational
institution for fitness in India. “AFM will not only enable
placements in the fitness industry, but even in institutions
that have set up their own fitness centres for their employees.”
He added that trainees are eligible for
placement, even at the completion of level I. He said the
salary, even for a fresher will be around Rs one lakh per annum.
The trainees would be placed as fitness trainers at the various
centres of FitnessOne and also in Multi National Companies like
Cognizant, he added.
“Fitness
has a bright future, as health is a valuable asset”,
they added.
The eligibility criteria for level I is 10th
Standard or + 2. Minimum age is 18.. This course is ideal for
those aspiring to become Physical Educational Trainers. Level II
and III offer a Diploma course in fitness management and
specialisation with research.
At present, level I is being offered, which
is expected to commence from February 16 and the last date for
receipt of applications is January 30.
