Apollo joins hands with Anna University
Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Executive Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said, “Today, the requirement for these courses is massive. The telehealth segment is growing at a rapid pace and we require professionally qualified people to support this segment. Apollo considered Anna University an apt university to collaborate with to offer the telehealth technology course for the first time in Asia.”
The Telehealth Technology Course will address the technical, the medical and the business aspects. The faculty from Anna University will handle the technical aspects while the medical and business aspects will be taken care of by the faculty from Apollo Hospitals. Dr. E. Balagurusamy, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, said, “The objective of the course is to provide health and industry sectors with people capable of understanding the design, selection, procurement, installation, management, maintenance and evaluation of telehealth systems appropriate to the present and future needs.”
The course will cost Rs 10,000 per private candidate, Rs 20,000 for institution/sponsored candidates and $ 750 for overseas candidates. Seats: The Telehealth Technology Course will be available in three batches annually and will accommodate only 30 students per batch. The duration of the course will be four weeks. This includes four-day hands on training at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, and a one day visit to a rural Telehealth centre.
