The unique feature of BD Insyteä - W Autoguardä is its patented BD Autoguard Push Button Shielding Technology, which is meant to effectively safeguard healthcare workers from accidental needle stick injury. These injuries are the main source of transmission of infectious diseases in the healthcare workers. The product uses specific material BD Vialonä to make the catheter. It is proven in multiple clinical studies over ten years that IV Catheters made of BD Vialonä biomaterial are easier to insert, while providing longer indwelling time with improved patient outcomes. The product will be supported by a range of education and training programs on the product usage for paramedic staff. Other features of the product are the sharper needle for painlesss insertion and thin yet strong cannula that allows the increased and smoother fluid flow and less patient discomfort. Another very important feature of the product is the kink resistance, which prevents the catheter from bending, thereby providing uncompromised fluid flow and better patient comfort. BD Veca - Câ (MRP Rs.35/-) is a sterile dressing designed for the use with IV Cannulae. It has a unique high absorbing wound pad to keep the catheter insertion site dry, so that the risk of bacterial growth is minimized. The transparent window allows the visual inspection of the key portion of the catheterized vein so that complications like imflammation at the catheter tip can easily be seen as soon as they appear. BD Veca - Câ also provide higher patient comfort through cushioning form the pad placed under the cannula wings. Also, a thin layer of aluminium foil prevents the plaster from sticking onto the wounds around the insertion site, resulting in lesser inconvenience to the patient.
