Laser hits the Chennai eye
The Iris Recognition has been developed for high level security and authentication purposes, said its Director, Dr Arulmozhi Varman. This has been adapted for medical use in the Z100, enabling automatic identification of the individual and the eye improving accuracy. Additionally the Iris Recognition ensures accurate alignment of the laser during treatment. It also matches and delivers the laser treatment precisely over the specific area of the cornea, Arulmozhi added. What differentiates Z100 from conventional vision correction surgeries is a spate of new features: TreatmentPlanner which suggests the best personalised treatment option for each patient. Iris Recognition technology which identifies each individual eye for customised treatment and maximise patient safety. 3 Dimensional Eyetracker which compensates and corrects for eye movement in every dimension (X-Y-Z, as against only X & Y in conventional technologies) during the surgery thereby directing a highly precise laser beam. The technology uses latest software which minimizes laser energy used during treatment. This technology can treat wider range of Shortsight (Myopia), Long sight (Hyperopia), Cylinder (Astigmatism) and Mixed cylinder (Mixed Astigmatism). This platform can identify the optical aberrations of the patient's eye most accurately and provides total custom treatment to correct them. Arulmozhi said, "The difference between Z100 and other conventional surgeries is similar to that of buying ready-made suit vs having a suit stitched to one's specification. With Z100, we can tailor-make the surgery for every single patient. The results, therefore are much more accurate than before". Z100 can reduce or eliminate your dependence on contacts or glasses. Patients, who have worn corrective eyewear all of their lives, are thrilled with the results and changes in their Life Style. For the first time, they're able to see the alarm clock in the morning. Even watching television becomes easier. Without corrective lenses, you'll be able to pursue hobbies and sports activities. Matrimonial benefits, where some may consider spectacles a stigma, are increased. Opportunity increases to choose their preferred career whether it is IPS, defence services, commercial pilot, modelling or acting. Patients can pursue their career-of-choice more freely with this latest eye correction procedure. The advantages of the Z100 procedure are phenomenal. Most accurate vision correction. Better night vision, greater predictability of the surgical outcome. Greater safety and efficacy. Reduced glare, enhanced contrast sensitivity. Reya Z1O0 Laser Vision Centre has conducted more than 60 successful operations since January. It has 17 top consultants who will perform surgery for their patients at the centre.
