Pregnant Elephant’s Tail Severed in Shocking Attack

In a shocking incident at Sakrebyle Elephant Camp in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district, miscreants attacked an 18-month pregnant elephant named Bhanumati and severed its tail. The incident took place when the staff left the elephant to graze after a bath. Upon returning, they found blood on the ground and discovered the severed tail, indicating a brutal attack.

Divisional Forest Officer Prasanna Krishna Patagar reported that the tail was cut by half an inch, and after receiving treatment, the elephant is now healthy and recovering. The Sakrebyle Elephant Camp is a forest camp for captive elephants in Karnataka, known for training and attracting wildlife enthusiasts and tourists.
