Delivery dangers after C-Section
Researchers at University of Washington collected data on more than 20,000 women who had had a C-section and then got pregnant again. They looked at the risk of uterine rupture in women who had a spontaneous onset of labour, those whose labour was induced by prostaglandin, and those in which labour was induced by other means. These three groups were compared to the women who had another C-section without first attempting labour. These findings, say researchers, are consistent with two other studies on women with prior C-sections. Researchers conclude that the risk of uterine rupture is higher among women in which labour is induced than among the women who had another C-section without labour. They add that the highest risk of uterine rupture is among women who are induced with the use of prostaglandin.

Each year about 60 percent of women who had a prior c-section and become pregnant again try to go through natural labour. A new study finds there are risks for these women, especially if the labour attempt is induced. 
Uterine rupture happened in 1.6 per 1000 women who had another C-section without labour and 5.2 per 1000 women among those who experienced spontaneous labour. Uterine rupture occurred in 7.7 per 1000 women among women whose labour was induced without the use of prostaglandin and 24.5 per 1000 women among those who had their labour induced with the use of prostaglandin.
