Designed to cater to the large throughput of consumers who can relish and enjoy a rich and refreshing Coffee experience, the Barista stores will also have provisions for take-away, Brotin said.

Barista has over 12 stores in the South, with presence in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The existing Barista stores in the South have been witnessing double-digit growth, in footfalls as well as revenue year after year and the company is confident that with increased presence, it will be able to offer "the unmatched coffee experience" to more and more consumers in the South. Brotin added.

Commenting on Barista's expansion plan, Brotin Banerjee said, "We see a huge potential for growth in the southern markets. These new outlets, further strengthens our established position as South Asia's largest retailer of fine specialty coffees with over 120 company owned outlets across the country." The company had recently reviewed its policy on franchisees and had now decided to open up and approve franchisees who are in keeping with Barista's image as a quality-conscious brand. Over 60 per cent of the new outlets planned, largely in the South, would be franchisees, Brotin revealed.

He further added, "We at Barista will work to live up to our brand belief; of serving the best coffee and delectable food at reasonable prices, in a new experience."

These stores flaunting the spanking new look of Barista will see marked changes in the signage, seating arrangements (comfort and normal seating), new in-store collaterals, uniform moods posters which provide a more contemporary and youthful ambience to the store.

Sharing his thoughts on the new look of Barista, Brotin Banerjee added, "The launch of Barista new look is in line with our constant endeavour to continuously provide a refreshed look and feel to our outlets. Being a consumer centric organisation, we continuously attempt to add new dimensions and refresh existing elements to enhance the consumer experience. "The new outlets are Wi-Fi enabled thus providing the customers the ability to connect to the world."

Barista has experienced "very enthusiastic and passionate responses" from its consumers and has also been listed amongst the top 100 brands in India by SUPER BRANDS India for the year 2003-2005. To enhance this unique experience, Barista focuses on themes and avenues that complement coffee such as music, books and art. In addition to this, Barista has been evolving its menu, keeping pace with the changing consumer needs. Its new menu, 'Chillers & Fillers' caters to a more wholesome and filling meal in the lunch category and has been a complete hit with the loyal Barista customers. Barista has been able to establish itself as the 'One Stop Beverage Point' offering something for everyone at affordable prices, Brotin said adding that for the first time Barista has launched one of the most affordable cold coffees across India, Iced Latte, at an introductory price of Rs. 25.

Barista, lndia's largest and fastest growing retailer of fine coffees, was established in February 2000 by Barista Coffee Company Limited, to recreate the ambience and experience of the typical Italian neighborhood Espresso Bars in India. Barista Coffee aims to provide a comfortable place for people to relax and unwind over a cup of coffee. Barista Coffee Company Limited has been awarded this years' TOPS award for excellence in specialty coffee retailing by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), the world's largest coffee trade organization. At present, the Barista Coffee Company Limited has over 120 Espresso Bars and Espresso Corners in over 20 cities.
