One more idol is being added to the holy congregation at the
Danvantri Arogya Peedam,
Walajapet, Vellore district. It is the Swarna Akarshana Bhairavar.
According to Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, founder-trustee of the peedam, the deity is to be installed on Monday May 28, 2007.
The idol is 4 ft in height and 2 ft in width and would be made of stone. There would be a gold (swarna) kalasam in one hand; there would be a drum (udukkai) in another hand and the third hand would be holding the trident (soolam). The fourth would show the abhaya
hastham.
Bhairavar, depicted with a snake around his neck and the moon adorning his hair, would have Amman sitting on his lap, says the
swamigal.
With the addition of this idol, the Danvantri Arogya Peedam will now consist of
Sri Danvantri,
Sri Vinayaka-Danvantri,
Mahishasuramardini,
Garudazhwar, Vishnu Padam, Sudarshana Azhwar, Rahu-Ketu,
Sanjeevi Anjaneyar
and Bhairavar. As in the case of all these idols, the Danvantri mahamantras
written by devotees would be buried under the Bhairavar idol also as yantra, explains Sri Muralidhara
Swamigal.
The mahamantras would be buried in a pit on May 10 on top of which would be erected the Bhairavar idol that would have gone on a karikola oorvalam by then.
Also, on old age home is to come up in the peedam. Due to various factors, old people are being neglected by their children, feels the swamigal. He would like them to spend their time usefully in the peedam and also be at peace with themselves in the presence of the divine forces of the temple.
The bhoomi pooja for the old age home would be performed and work on it begins on April 21 (Chithirai 10). In memory of her parents, famous Chennai doctor, Dr Kamala Selvaraj, will be donating Rs 10 lakh for the building of the old age home.
The old age home, a tribute to the memory of the swamigal’s parents, would accommodate 20 persons who would serve the Lord of the peedam, Sri Danvantri, and live as one with nature in the natural surroundings of the temple.
Donations to this worthy cause would have tax exemption under Section 80 G of the IT Act.
The swamigal also has plans to build an annadana koodam and dispensary.
