An 8 1/2 ft Sanjeevi Anjaneyar
idol was recently installed at the Danvantri Arogya Peedam in Walajapet, Vellore district, Tamil Nadu. Then commenced the mandabhishekam for the deity who is found at the entrance to the temple, standing in a moving posture, lifting the Sanjeevi hill in one hand.
The 46th day of the mandalabhishekam is to be celebrated May 12. There would be special poojas and abhishekams for the idol with 18 dhiravium. Holy water would be stored in 16 kalasams. Sriman Ravi Dikshitar and Srinivasa Raghavan would preside over the celebration that would be conducted according to Pancharatra
Agamam.
Since it is amavasya, a day special to Anjaneya, there would also be special alankaram with vadamalai for the deity.
According to Sri Muraleedhara Swamigal, the founder-trustee of the Danvantri Arogya Peedam that runs the temple, devotees are invited to participate in the morning homams and the evening abhishekam that will take place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The homams for the day include Naga Preethi homam, Mrutyunjai homam, Danvantri homam and Mahasudarshana homam. As it is amavasya, oushadam (medicine prasadam) will be given.
There will also be special poojas for Danvantri, Rahu-Ketu, Sudarshana Alwar and
Mahishasuramardini.

Mega Medical Mela
The swamigal expressed great satisfaction at the conduct of the Mega Medical Mela that took place from May 1-9 at the Danvantri temple. Irrespective of caste and creed, doctors and their families, including veterinarians, took part in the homam. " I would like to thank everybody who made it a success," says the
swamigal.
"This was the first time in the world that such a homam was conducted. It will be repeated in 2008 also," he assured.
