The Swarna Akarshana Bhairavar is being installed at the Danvantri Arogya Peedam in Walajapet, Vellore district, on May 28.

The idol, a one-of-its-kind, has been made with four hands: One hand holds the swarna kalasam, another holds the drum (udukkai), the third hand holds the trident and the fourth shows 'abhayam'. Ambal sits sweetly on his lap, holding a lotus in her hand.

According to Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, the founder-trustee of the peedam, the idol was taken on a procession to the five bordering towns and brought to the Danvantri temple.

As part of the preparations for the installation of the idol, sculpted by Loganatha Sthapathi of Mamallapuram, about 5 crore Danvantri mantras have been buried under the sanctum sanctorum.

The idol has been through 'dhaanya vasam', 'jaladhi vasam' and 'sayanadhi vasam', says the swamigal.

There will be 27 Nakshatra Parihara homam, Lakshmi Kubera yagam in separate pits (agni kundam) before the installation on May 28.

The installation ceremony is to be held between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday, Ekadasi thithi, Swati nakshatram, in the presence of Dr P Lakshmi, Sri Vishwaroopa Panchamukha Anjaneyar Swamy Trust, Tiruvallur.

The other guests of honour are: director-actor Thiruchelvan (who plays Tholkappiyan in the 'Kolangal' serial on Sun TV), and Chennai Kumaran Silks owners Kumar and Kesavan.

On May 27, there will be a Siddha medical camp followed by an ENT camp by Dr Kulasekaran on May 28. There will be annadanam as usual.

Nadaswara vidwan Dharmapuri R Venkatachalapathy will be playing soulful music along with his troupe during the festivities.

Those who wish to participate in the special poojas to be rid of problems relating to money, during the installation of the idol, may send Rs 500 or Rs 1,000 to the peedam at the address given below.

The swamigal also welcomes contributions in cash or kind for the installation ceremony and annadanam.
