A chat with Sneha
Sneha is a beautiful young actress making waves in Kollywood. With quite a few good performances, this actress has carved a niche for herself in Tamil filmdom. An outspoken actress, Sneha says , "To be an actress one should be equipped to perform any role with aplomb".
In a chat, the actress stressed "After playing the role of an excellent and homely character called Sathya in 'Parthiban Kanavu', I will concentrate more on such roles and stay away from glamour roles. I am acting as Cheran's friend in 'Autograph', opposite Ajith Kumar in 'Jana' and also in an as yet untitled movie to be produced by V Sundar. I will also be taking up a few roles in a couple of Telugu movies".
She added "I don't know whether glamour is a part of acting . As far I am concerned, I am not keen on taking up glamorous roles. My homely roles have always been admired and adored and I feel comfortable playing such roles only".
She made her debut in 'Anandham' starring opposite Abbas, (since her actual debut film 'Virumbukiren' opposite Prashanth was released very late). "All my characters in movies like 'Virumbukiren', 'King', 'Hey nee romba azhaga irukke', 'Vaseegara', 'April madhathil' and 'Parthiban kanavu' have been very good ones and people of all age groups appreciated my performance.
When asked who her competitor was, Sneha said "I don't believe in the 'number one' game and I don't see anyone as my competitor. I am the competitor for myself. I ensure that I better my performance with every film I act in and strive to give my best".
There were some gossip doing the rounds in film circles recently about Sneha, when the subject was raised with her, she responded by saying, "This is mere gossip, I don't want to argue or ponder over it. I take trouble to think of positive things only".
When asked what she thought of some actresses who appeared for a single song only in a film, she replied: "I wouldnt want to perform for a single number and disappear. But even if it is a very small character role, if there is scope for me to perform, I will do it".
"I will certainly establish myself as an actress, who can give a good performance and be a director's actress, she said adding "Even if I have a long wait before making it big, I dont mind waiting".
