In
late January 2009, I took over from
Prof. Satyanarayana as Advisor, Office
of Alumni Affairs at IIT Madras. Big
shoes to fill, since Satya has done
a yeoman job over the past few years
in shaping and moulding OAA. I promise
to do my best! As there is also a new
Executive Committee of IITMAA in place,
there is a wonderful opportunity here
to synergize our activities and optimize
our collective functioning.

 2008
is the Golden Jubilee year of IIT Madras
and the Institute launched a series
of events on campus to celebrate the
various achievements over the last 50
years.We ended the year with a bang
for IITM alumni because of the PanIIT
Global Conference that was successfully
conducted for the fist time on the IITM
campus on December 19-21 with attendance
exceeding 3000 plus alumni, faculty,
and students from all campuses.
