Finding Nemo
Director:
Andrew Stanton
Cast: Albert Brooks, Willem Dafoe, Ellen DeGeneres, Geoffrey Rush.
From the creators of 'Toy Story', 'A Bug's Life' and 'Monsters Inc', comes a fascinating, computer-animated, adventure story, 'Finding Nemo'. Centered around the bonding and adventures of two clown-fish, the anxious over-protective Marlin and his adventurous son Nemo, it's all about parenting and filial love.
Marlin takes his little son Nemo on his first day at fish-school. The duo get separated at the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo, defying his father's warning, heads off to the high seas to investigate a boat, and is scooped up by a diver. Frantically searching for his son, Marlin encounters the ever-optimistic Blue Tang Dory who offers to help him. Only, Dory has this short-term memory loss problem, which rather complicates matters. Marlin and Dory have to swim through various dangers - like a trio of sharks, a deadly angler fish, a tangled forest of pink jelly fish, a dangerous blue whale and some ravenous seagulls - before they could reach Sydney
Harbour.
Nemo, meanwhile, is languishing in a fish tank at a dentist's house in Sydney, with some colourful characters in the tank for company. Dreading the arrival of the dentist's neice with a sadistic, destructive side to her mentality, they make plans to escape.
The makers have created a wonderful, enchanting and colourful underwater environment with its quirky, charming characters. Some excellent voice-work, and imaginative lighting and layout enhance the film's entertainment value, making the film worth a watch!
