The Matrix Revolutions

Director: Wachowski Brothers
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Laurence, Fishburne, Jada Pinkett Smith, Carrie Ann Moss, Hugo Weaving, Nona Gaye.

The Wachowski Brothers return with the third part of their Matrix-trilogy, 'The Matrix Revolutions'. Those who have watched 'The Matrix' and then it's sequel, 'Matrix Reloaded', would surely have realised that the sequel never came anywhere near the first part. For one, 'The Matrix' had a strikingly new concept, and balanced its content with its unique narrative style. But 'Reloaded' had just some superbly choreographed stunts and graphics.

In 'Revolutions' there's very little left to tell. Many of the earlier characters appear here too. There's Nee, the chosen one, who this time is lying in an empty tube-station where he meets an Indian couple and their little daughter. Time for some talk on karma and Indian philosophy!

Nee wants to go back to his world, but is stopped by the Traiman (Bruce Spence), who is controlled by the mad Frenchman, Merovingian (Wilson). Meanwhile, Trinity (Carrie Ann Moss) and Morpheus (Fishburne), learning of Neo being trapped between worlds, confront Merovingian and bring back Neo.

There is also the scene where Neo goes back to oracle, the latter is as vague as ever! Meanwhile, machines make an attack on Zion, and bad-man Agent Smith (Weaving) returns, determined this time to take over the machine world and The Matrix. Neo with Trinity visits the machine city to stop the onslaught of the machines.

Apart from a little bit of excitement generated by the millions of crawlies sent by machines to attack - the scene lasts for a long time - there's nothing much here by way of action - scenes or graphics that one hasn't seen before in the earlier parts.

'The Matrix' had a lot different to tell, and new ways of telling it too. 'Reloaded' had lesser to tell and not many ways of telling it. While 'Revolutions' has nothing left to tell, leave along tell it in new ways!
