Bullet Proof Monk
Director:
Paul Hunter
Cast: Chow Yun Fat, Seann William Scott, Jaime King, Victoria Smurfit.
When he’s not regaling audiences with his agility and skill in martial arts in films like ‘Replacement Killers’, Chow Yun Fat is proving his acting prowess in films like ‘Anna and the King’. Now the popular Chinese star returns with what he’s best at - a martial arts hero in ‘Bullet Proof Monk’, where, with his quicksilver reflexes, he re-establishes his credentials as one of the leading heroes of martial arts films.
The storyline, as usual in films of this genre, has enough action to satisfy lovers of martial arts films. Chow plays a monk, a martial arts master who’s vested with the responsibility of handing over a powerful, ancient scroll to his successor who happens to be Kar (Scott) who’s the chosen one.
But Kar, though charming, is a street guy with his wild ways. The unlikely duo go through various adventures and encounter their main foe: A wealthy, aged man who’s been waiting for the scroll for six decades so that he can reverse the ageing process, for the scroll would bestow him with immortality and immense power.
