It is the ideal launching vehicle that the father has arranged for his son. A role that gives debutant Hrithik enough scope to display his talent. And the son has done a fine job. With drop-dead looks and immense talent he is sure to go far. Paired with him is another newcomer Ameesha, who is cute and quite comfortable in her debut performance. It's a dual role that Hritik handles - that of Rohit, a simple guy who aspires to be a singer, and of Raj his look alike who stays in New Zealand.
Rohit is witness to a murder and before he can expose the culprits is killed by them. Sonia the wealthy heiress who was in love with him is packed off to New Zealand to her cousin's place. The scene shifts to the exotic locales there, where Sonia meets Raj, Rohit's look alike. Raj attracted by the girl, however, gets only rejection from her side. She leaves for India and he follows her. The gang mistaking him for Rohit tries to kill him. And Raj helps Sonia solve the mystery of Rohit's death, putting his own life in danger. And he finds his way to the girl's heart.
The tunes are 'hummable', the photography pleasant. It may not be among the director's better movies, but it is the perfect launching pad for his son.
