The story goes like this: Jackie Shroff is Raj Singh Puri, a man who lives with the memories of his late wife Rati Agnihotri. Shocked at the effect of western culture on his second daughter, he comes back home to India, attempting to be a friend to his three girls. Since he leaves in a hurry, he forgets to bid goodbye to the boy who had grown up in his arms, Ronit, none other than Hrithik Roshan.
Hrithik follows him to India and is with Jackie in times of need and when he is trying to get his grip back on life. Hrithik also helps Jackie find a match for his eldest daughter through his site.
Kareena, the cycling champ, is Jackie's youngest daughter and she does not believe in love. Well, her cycling ability is put to test when she manages to reach Hrithik's car and gives him the parting gift that her father had asked her to give. The showman makes his characteristic appearance in this scene. Without it, one doubts if the film would have been complete!
The story continues with Hrithik and Kareena eventually falling in love. After some twists, turns and triangles, the movie comes to an end.
With so much of hype, Yaadein was expected to run to packed houses. But that is far from the truth. The movie does not make an attempt at a good storyline and that is the root cause for its failure. Anumalik is back with the best of music. Even the glamorous star cast cannot help to lift the film that is nothing but an expensive 3-hour nap!
