Jhankar Beats

Cast: Juhi Chawla, Rahul Bose, Sanjay Suri, Shayan Munshi, Rinkie Khanna, Riya Sen, Vijayendra
Ghatge.
Following the trend set by 'Dil Chahta Hai', comes 'Jhankar Beats', a whiff of fresh air, despite its low budget, and a not-so-well-known star-cast, except for Juhi Chawla. Falling somewhere in between the so-called commercial cinema and its trappings, and films of the Indian-English film genre, most of which have bombed or got no releases,
this film has characters that are very real and believable. Characters you can identify with, as they go through their trials and tribulations, trying to achieve their goals.
It's a light-hearted and humorous look at the various relationships the three protagonists go through, and a tribute to the late music composer R. D. Burman, whom the three refer to as 'Boss'.
The three protagonists are Deep (Suri), Rishi (Bose), and Indranil (Munshi), hardcore Burman fans, working for an ad-agency which Indranil's father runs. The trio have two main goals to achieve. One, come up with a striking campaign for a condom, which would fetch them a plump contract. Second, win a music contest called the 'Jhankar Beats'. As they go through the roller-coaster ride of life, each with his own problems -
Deep's is a steady life with wife Shanti (Chawla),
Rishi's is a tumultuous one with wife Nikki (Khanna), Indranil's is trying to date the charming girl he's fallen for (Sen)-- both on the job and home front, all narrated in a humorous vein, the trio work towards achieving their goals.
The cast is well-picked, Rahul Bose and Sanjay Suri fitting perfectly their roles. Shayan Munshi makes a very promising debut (from the modelling scene) to the acting arena. Juhi Chawla looks as charming as ever, Rinkie a bit too sincere, and Riya Sen has just to look good! A not-to-be-missed film.
