Learning music through the Net
Indiamusicinfo.com has launched a facility to learn Carnatic music through the Net.
Carnatic musician Neyveli Santhanagopalan will provide the classes ranging from the basics to the most advanced.
Four hours of lessons will be offered each month, each module costing Rs 450. Effort would be made to have interactive sessions, group discussions, said Bharat Subramaniam, CEO of the website.
The website has teamed up with a New Zealand-based company, Springdoo, to provide a web-based audio and video feedback system that lets the learner record his/her voice and video message in real time. The guru will provide feedback to learners about how they might improve their performance.
Neyveli Santhanagopalan said he was happy to be associated with a
project through which he could reach out to students in different parts of the world.
In the modern world, 'Gurukula Vaasam' was not possible. Students, therefore, could learn from the masters via the Net and he hoped more performers would emerge.
