A live concert DVD of Devi Kshetra Kritis by Dr M Lalitha and M Nandini
(violin duet) was released at a function in Brahma Gana Sabha on December 19 by eminent ethnomusicologist, Dr S A K Durga, and the first copy was received by D S Ramanujam, secretary,
Kartik Fine arts.
The album contains compositions on the different Devis from different places like Sivakamasundari of Chidambaram, Bhuvaneswari of Pudukottai, Kamakshi of
Kanchi, Dharmasamvardhini of Tiruvaiyaru, Kanthimathi of Tirunelveli, Tirupurasundari of
Tiruvotriyur, Meenakshi of Madurai and Karpagambal of Tirumylai. Visuals of the
different deities and the temples have also been featured in the
DVD.
The songs of different composers like Gopalakrishna Bharati, Harikesanallur Muthiya Bhagavathar, Subbaraya Sastri, Tyagaraja, Muthuswamy Diksitar and Papanasam Sivan are featured in the album.
